About Image to PDF Converter
The SecureBin Image to PDF Converter is a versatile, free online tool that transforms your images into professional PDF documents directly in your web browser. Whether you need to compile photographs into an album, convert scanned document images into a single PDF, or create a presentation from screenshots, this tool handles it seamlessly without uploading a single byte to any server.
Supported Image Formats
The converter accepts three widely-used image formats. JPEG (JPG) is the most common format for photographs and scanned documents. PNG supports transparency and is ideal for screenshots, diagrams, and graphics with text. WebP is Google's modern image format that offers excellent compression with high quality, increasingly used across the web. All three formats are processed natively by your browser's built-in image decoding capabilities.
Page Size Options
A4 (210 x 297mm) is the international standard paper size used in most countries worldwide. Letter (8.5 x 11 inches) is the standard in the United States and Canada. Fit to Image creates PDF pages that exactly match each image's dimensions, perfect when you want to preserve original proportions without any margins or cropping. When using A4 or Letter sizes, images are automatically scaled to fit within the page boundaries while maintaining their aspect ratio.
Orientation and Layout
The Auto orientation mode intelligently detects whether each image is wider than it is tall, and sets the page orientation accordingly. This means landscape photos get landscape pages and portrait photos get portrait pages, all within the same PDF. Alternatively, you can force all pages to Portrait or Landscape orientation for a consistent look throughout the document.
Margin Control
Four margin presets give you control over whitespace around your images. None places images edge-to-edge for maximum visual impact. Small adds a subtle 20-point border. Medium and Large add progressively more whitespace, which is useful for documents that will be printed and bound or annotated. Margins are applied uniformly on all four sides of each page.
Reorder and Remove Images
After uploading, you can drag and drop image thumbnails to rearrange them in any order. Each image shows a numbered badge so you always know the sequence. A remove button on each thumbnail lets you selectively exclude images without starting over. The drag-and-drop interface works smoothly on both desktop and touch-enabled devices.
Privacy Guaranteed
All image processing and PDF generation occurs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and the pdf-lib library. Your images are read using the File API, processed in memory, and the resulting PDF is generated locally. No image data, metadata, or file contents are ever transmitted to any server. This makes the tool safe for converting personal photos, confidential documents, medical images, and any other sensitive visual content.
Common Use Cases
Professionals use this tool to compile scanned receipts into expense reports, convert whiteboard photos into shareable documents, create PDF portfolios from design screenshots, and assemble multi-page documents from individually scanned pages. Students find it invaluable for converting handwritten notes photographed with their phones into organized PDF study materials. Photographers use it to create quick proof sheets and sample albums.
Technical Details
The converter uses pdf-lib for PDF creation and the browser's native Image and Canvas APIs for image processing. PNG images with transparency are converted to JPEG for PDF embedding, with a white background applied. The tool handles EXIF orientation data from camera photos, ensuring images display correctly regardless of how the camera recorded the orientation metadata.
